Visual Arts Workshop, March 2025, Kindiri, Chad

GloCAP’s CEO, and art teacher, Clamra Celestin is back in Kindiri, Chad leading a visual arts workshop with local teachers and visiting French artist David Hurson for 200 student-artists.

Children are inspired by traditional fired-pottery calabashes with bold geometric designs fashioned by Kindiri’s women – you can see these being used as examples. Not only are paint and visual art new to these children, but also tables and benches.

“ The children are so excited to sit for the first time on benches using desks.”

Clamra Celestin, workshop co-leader and GloCAP’s CEO

Last year the art workshop took place outside on the ground and this year the workshop is taking place outside on new benches and tables made by carpenters in Koumra.

GloCAP is helping to purchase these and other furnishings for an art studio currently under construction. Next year, with help from our donors, the children will enjoy their art workshops inside with benches and tables!
